Enrolling at Wairau is an easy process. It is very important to enrol your child well in advance of the school year, to help with successful class placements and school organisation. Enrolment forms are available year round and the school hosts enrolment days and evenings in the third term.
Although we have a school zone, for 2021 all out of zone enrolments will be accepted. However, we do however require proof of address (i.e. a power bill or bank statement). The map of our school zone can be seen by clicking on the link below.
For children who were not born in New Zealand and do not have a New Zealand passport, we will require one of the following:
- student’s residence permit or returning residence visa
- parent’s work permit and student’s permit/visa
- student’s New Zealand citizenship certificate
Parents / caregivers are invited to come along to visit our school on our Open Days being held on Wednesday 11 August, Thursday 12 August and Tuesday 17 August, between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00pm when they can observe a vibrant, interactive snapshot of the school in action. Individual/group tours of the school will be held during this time and no appointment will be necessary.
An Open Evening will be held on Thursday 12 August from 7.00pm-8.30pm in the school hall. Teachers and current pupils will be on hand to explain how the school functions and to show you around.
Enrolment packs will be available at the Open Days/Evening. Enrolments will be open from Monday 16 August.
